ST. GEORGE, UTAH — At the 2019 Huntsman World Senior Games, 45 women in four skill divisions challenged themselves in the 5K hill climb cycling race at Snow Canyon State Park.

Four new HSWG hill climb cycling records were set (shown in bold), two of which were among the four fastest times of the women’s field. Lori Hoechlin (Rancho Mission Viejo, CA) at 15 minutes and 47.6 seconds (Division 1/W55-59), Donna Ingle (Las Vegas, NV) at 16 minutes and 16.3 seconds, Kim Bear (Santa Fe, NM) at 18 minutes and 41.9 seconds (Division II/W60-64), and Lori Zenoni (Sandy, UT) at 18 minutes and 42.9 seconds.

The four skill divisions are Expert, Experienced, Recreational and Beginner. If a cyclist wins her age group in the course of the four-race event, she moves up one division (i.e. from Division IV Beginner to Division III Recreational) the following year. Age groups are in five-year blocks starting at 50-54. Recumbent cyclists may race in the hill climb and time trial races. The Huntsman World Senior Games is open to athletes ages 50 or better.
